About Us

The Wolfe Club of Newburyport is a Fraternity focused on bringing together Men from all walks of life and ways of thinking, to build common ground, social ties, mutual support, and to collectively give back to our Community. We include Men regardless of Race, Ethnicity, Religious or Political Beliefs, Sexual Orientation, or perceived Social Status or Financial means.

Major General James Wolfe was a Hero of the Seven Years War and rose to his station despite his physical limitations and humble beginnings. His Victory and Death at the Battle for Quebec in 1759 made him a Legendary figure in Colonial New England and the Wolfe Tavern here in Newburyport, named in his honor, became a meeting place for all.

We aim to emulate his better qualities, Perseverance, Camaraderie, Bravery, Equality, and Charity. We look to form lasting friendships with others who may have otherwise remained at a perpetual distance. To study, preserve and share the rich history of our great City of Newburyport. And to most importantly volunteer our time and raise resources to help those most vulnerable and in need in our Community.
